SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherapy is a medically proven technique that is very effective in collapsing undesired spider veins. Sclerotherapy is achieved by injecting a chemical sclerosant into the vein to obliterate it. This is done by damaging the inner epithelial layer of the vein and creating a blood clot to bock further blood flow in that vein. There are two FDA approved medications for this procedure. Sodium tetradecyl sulfate (a detergent) and polidocanol (Asclera).
